John Harrison: [00:00:00] Hello again everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Peak at the Peak. It’s me, John Harrison, back on the line with Jon Spalding up at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. Jon, thanks so much for joining me today.

Jon Spaulding: Great to be here today, John Day number 44 of this beautiful ski season.

John Harrison: That’s right.

Beautiful. It is. Yeah. I’m glad. Looking great up there on the mountain. I was actually up there, last night with some family that’s in town they’re in town ’cause it’s one of the biggest ski weekends of the year. It’s MLK weekend, right?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. We’ve been, preparing for it all season it’s not gonna disappoint.

We got a full hotel. We’ve got. Lots of guests planning to come out and of course, weather conditions couldn’t be better.

John Harrison: Yeah, looking great up there on the mountain. We had a, a bit of a rough match down here up here in, Cortland and Homer with the, the rain, but I’m glad that hasn’t stopped any of the snowmaking everything’s looking good up there.

What can people expect for, for MLK weekend? Any, any great deals, specials, or events going on?

Jon Spaulding: Well, they can expect all chairs to be spinning nearly all of our 56 trails to be open. Especially now that we’ve got some fresh, snowfall from, mother Nature to [00:01:00] fill those glades in.

Definitely gonna be a great day to come out and enjoy the slopes, to come out and tube we’ll have 10 lanes of tubing, available too. Cross country. It did take a hit from that rain, but, we’re. Depending on how much snow we get here, we may have that reopen again this weekend.

So busy, busy, 28 to 56 inch depths of base out there on the slope. Wow. Even if your backyard took a little hit from the rain, didn’t, didn’t affect us here. So check out the webcams at greek peak.net you’ll see the winter wonderland we got going on.

John Harrison: All right. Awesome. MLK weekend.

Most of us have Monday off. Is the mountain taken Monday off? Usually that’s when we do college night. Are we still gonna be having that?

Jon Spaulding: No, the Monday will be in full swing, Monday night at the mountain will be in full swing on Monday night, for sure. And Red Jug College Night will still be, in the works at $26 a night, even though it is a holiday weekend.

That’s something that, we wanted to make sure we kept for all of our, our, loyal Monday night skiers. And don’t forget, Tuesdays [00:02:00] $48. Tuesdays all day lift tickets. So it’s a couple. Great. Ways to get out. If you can’t come this weekend, then come on Monday or Tuesday just enjoy the snow.

Buried out here, it’s a great time to come out and enjoy the snow.

John Harrison: Yeah. Awesome. And all right, looking forward, to, for the, the, I guess the rest of the month, a couple of days. We’ve got, Locals Race league is, is coming up?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. Locals Race League is, actually underway.

It starts on the 20th, so there’s still time to sign up. I believe it’s an eight week program. You can get the details on that. At, greek peak.net.

John Harrison: Yeah. All right, great. So yeah, folks, head over to greek peak.net if you wanna hear more about the, the local race league. It’s starting up on the 20th.

Still. Time to sign up. Jon’s starting to run a little short on time here, but anything else, going on at the mountain you wanna look ahead to, the rest of the season? I mean, you said. 44 days into the season, everything’s looking great. So far. What’s, what’s ahead for Greek Peak?

Jon Spaulding: Well, you can mark the date on your calendar.

Saturday, February 21st is our, our Winter Fest, event up here at Greek Peak. It’ll also be the time that we’re kicking off our 26 [00:03:00] 27 season pass sale. Definitely mark that on, on the calendar. We got a lot of special things going on up here for, winter Fest we look forward to having everybody out.

John Harrison: Yeah. Alright, great. I’m looking forward to it. Winter Fest is one of my favorite times of the year. Great way to, celebrate the winter in January. Alright, well Jon, thanks so much for joining me on the line for another edition of Peak Of the Peak. Thanks,

Jon Spaulding: John. Talk to you soon.
