This year, New York State will help 25 new farmers grow their businesses through what’s called the New Farmers Grant Fund.
$743,000 will be shared to help the businesses expand and develop product lines, often using new methods.
Of the 55 farms which applied for funding this year, winners include some in Cortland and Tompkins Counties.

- Van Noble Farm
Grant amounts vary from $17,000 to $40,000.
