“Granny Flats” Focus of Tuesday Kelles Town Hall

Area Assemblywoman Anna Kelles (125th A.D.) invites residents of the 125th District to a Town Hall on Aging in Place on Tuesday, February 22, at noon.

One focus will be the Accessory Homes Enabling Act to legalize Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) – smaller places to live located on the same lot as a single-family home.

These are often called “granny flats.”

Kelles addes that Assemblymember Harvey Epstein will give an introduction to the Accessory Homes Enabling Act.

ADUs can enable homeowners to provide needed housing for their parents, adult children, grandchildren, or other loved ones. Speakers will include AARP Associate State Director Kristen McManus and AARP Senior Legislative Representative Samar Jha.
