New York Governor Kathy Hochul made a visit to the Village of Homer Friday afternoon, July 21st. Governor Hochul toured Main Street in the Village with Mayor Hal McCabe.
Both the governor and mayor walked down the picturesque street, making stops at The Exchange, Homer Men & Boys, and Dasher’s Corner Pub.
X101’s John Eves was able to catch up with Governor Hochul regarding the village being awarded the $10 Million Dollar Downtown Revitalization Initiative back in February. Governor Hochul has this to say regarding the future on Homer:
“We can capitalize on these magnificent buildings and the charm and the strong sense of community that exists here in Homer and take it to the next level.” Governor Hochul said to X101.
Project proposals are still being accepted by the Village of Homer from the DRI funding, with projects requiring to be submitted by noon on August 1st.
The Village of Homer has provided detailed information on the DRI process, including meeting dates and times at HomerNY.org.
