Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to veto 184 items proposed expenses in the new state budget. The veto’s include funding for local projects.
The vetoes include over $51.2 million dollars for the recently completed student life center at SUNY Cortland. The money was originally appropriated for another project and was reallocated improperly.
The $56 million dollar student life and activities center opened in March.
College spokesman Fred Pierce says the college is not actually losing any funding, the money will be reallocated using the proper procedures.
The veto’s also include a $1000 dollar line item for the Homer Fire Department. The money was awarded several years ago but had not been spent.
