Gas Prices Remain The Same After Weeks of Increase

AAA says gas prices are relatively the same as last week, only down nationally by 3 cents to $3.62 a gallon. For New York State, the average remains higher than the national average, at $3.72 a gallon, down 1 cent from last week.

The month of April had a large increase in the price for a gallon of gas, AAA says, but May seems to be cooling off prices, so far. Oil prices remain between $78 to $82 a barrel with little to no movement, helping gas prices stabilize.

For Cortland County, the county average stands at $3.73 a gallon, the highest county average in the Central New York Region. Neighboring Tompkins County has an average of $3.69 a gallon.
