New York State’s average price for a gallon of gas has remained relatively unchanged for the past two weeks AAA reports. The state average just dropped one cent from last week to an average of $3.69 a gallon.

The national average, though, increased over the past week with a national average at $3.59 a gallon. Triple A says higher demand for gas has led the national average to increase with demand now above 9 million barrels a day.

It was only a year ago that the highest recorded average price for a gallon of gas was recorded with a national average of $5.02 a gallon and for New York, $5.04 a gallon.

For diesel, prices continued to fall. The New York average is down 4 cents per gallon to $4.49.
