Gas prices remained steady over the weekend, even after a reported 40 million Americans traveled, with over 37 million via car, according to AAA. The National Average for a gallon of gas stands at $3.58 a gallon.
New York though, remains a tad higher than the national average, at $3.70 per gallon. Compared to a year ago today, the state average is down well over a dollar, last year’s average was at $4.97 a gallon.
For Cortland County, the county average stands right at the state average of $3.70 a gallon. Fuel prices are expected to decrease for the remainder of this week as peak demand from Memorial Day Weekend has already occurred.
