The national average for a gallon of gas is down nearly 6 cents per gallon since last monday to an average of $3.61. New York though, prices continue to rise with a statewide average of $3.71.
AAA reports gas demand has increased significantly from data provided by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Even with the increased demand, lower total domestic gas stock, a decline in stocks. Oil prices remain below $80 per barrel.
Cortland County’s average for a gallon of gas is $3.72 a gallon, the highest county average in Central New York. Cayuga County currently has the lowest average price within CNY, at $3.68.
