It was only about a week ago when the State of New York brought a tax cap to help relieve pain at the pump for consumers. The tax cap helped bring down prices around 14 cents a gallon, but have now crept back up.
New York’s average price for a gallon of gas is now $4.94 with Cortland County averaging near $4.87 a gallon. Prices for a gallon will easily reach $5 a gallon by the end of this week.
