You may have noticed prices at the pumps have remained relatively stable for the past few weeks, but prices are expected to rise before the Fourth of July travel weekend this weekend.
According to AAA, traveling records are expected to be smashed with over 43 million people planning to drive to their destinations, up 2.4% from last year. Demand for gas will increase with the increase of travelers.
Currently, New York’s average is $3.69 a gallon, slightly higher than the national average of $3.57 a gallon. For Cortland County, prices are just a tad lower than the state average, at $3.66 a gallon.
