Gas prices nationally are down about 11 cents per gallon from last week to an average of $3.55 a gallon. For New York, prices are down by 6 cents per gallon to an average of $3.79.
Though prices were decreasing, Triple A reports that this Thanksgiving average for gas was the highest since the organization began keeping records in 2000. Triple A also reports that Diesel prices remain high at a national average of $5.22 per gallon, only falling 8 cents from the week prior.
Cortland County, once the states lowest for a gallon of gas. Now remains near the state average of $3.79 with a county average of $3.77 per gallon. Prices are expected to continue to drop through Christmas.
