Weak demand for gas has led to gas prices continuing to decline nationally, New York included. Since this Monday, the average price for a gallon of gas nationally is $3.32, an 8 cent decrease. New York has dropped by 9 cents per gallon from a week ago.
However, prices for Cortland County remain stagnant. The county average $3.73 a gallon for gas, well above the state average of $3.65.
Prices are expected to continue their decline through the end of the year.
