Future Dispensary in Village of Homer Receives NYS Cannabis License – Expected to Open New Year’s Day 2025
The first-ever dispensary license for Cortland County has officially been given out after the New York State Office of Cannabis Management met on Tuesday, September 10th. Classy Canna, LLC, a women-owned business plans to open a dispensary on Main Street in the Village of Homer with an anticipated opening date of New Year’s Day 2025.
“We are excited to take this important step forward in bringing our vision to life,” said Stephanie Koslowski, co-founder of the dispensary. “Our goal is to create a welcoming space that reflects our commitment to quality, community, and responsible cannabis use.”
Back in October 2023, the Village of Homer was originally notified of the business’ plans to submit an application for a dispensary license through the Office of Cannabis Management. According to the application intent to the village, the dispensary would open at 8 North Main Street in the Village of Homer.
Classy Canna says the opening date for New Year’s Day is tentative and depends on final compliance checks. The company is currently working with the Office of Cannabis Management and the Village of Homer to ensure all regulations are met.
“Compliance with state and local regulations are a top priority, and we will be meticulously following every requirement as we move forward,” added Hailey Ruoff, co-founder.
Classy Canna LLC. is the only licensed dispensary in Cortland County at this time. Over at the Riverside Plaza in the City of Cortland, LakeHouse Cannabis is still waiting for a license to be issued by the Office of Cannabis Management.
“I am proud to offer my wholehearted support for Classy Canna. This new business is an exciting addition to our community, and it represents a significant step forward for our local economy,” said Hal McCabe, Mayor of the Village of Homer.
In a release, Classy Canna says their dispensary’s mission will be to provide high-quality cannabis products, but also promote education and wellness within the community.
