Funding Announced For Dwyer Park Playground

During a Thursday meeting of the Cortland County Tobacco Asset Securitization Corporation, talks were done regarding the utilization of funding from the Tobacco Asset Securitization fund. Talks led to the Tobacco Asset Securitization Corporation to agree in allocating $80,000 of funding for a new playground at Dwyer Memorial Park.

The playground at the park was previously removed by the county earlier this year due to safety concerns. Those concerns escalated after the county settled after a child was injured on the playground. Cortland County previously said the review of the playground was done by the county’s newly hired Safety Director, Jason DeRaiche.
