Winter Storm Harper dropped over a foot of snow here in Central NY over the weekend and two days of sub-zero temperatures immediately followed.

Today’s winter weather concern: Freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has an advisory in effect until 5:00 this evening warning of freezing rain leading to declining travel conditions and limited visibility at times.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing today, but tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a wintry mix in the morning followed by more snow in the afternoon.

The combination of today’s freezing rain and tomorrow’s falling temperatures and snow may cause for some concern on the roads.

Expect morning highs tomorrow of around 40 degrees, steadily decreasing to near 30 degrees throughout the day.

And of course, stay tuned with X101 for all your weather and traffic updates.
