Seven Valleys Health Coalition has teamed up once again with FoodFeasible on a series of “Let’s Get Cortland Cooking Healthy” classes, a project funded by a grant from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
The classes are completely virtual using the Zoom platform and are held
Each class runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m and is held virtual using Zoom over a four-week period starting this coming Monday (September 21).
People of all ages are encouraged to participate in this safe, family-friendly activity.
“These classes will be great for people wanting to begin making healthier choices,” said Theresa Rodabaugh, SVHC AmeriCorps Project Assistant. “We don’t expect people to dive headfirst in making healthy lifestyle changes- it’s a process. So, we encourage folks to test the waters with us during one or all of our free cooking classes.”
Registered dietician, Lela Niemetz, will introduce students to various new easy-to-make, nutritious recipes.
During the classes, participants are encouraged to cook along with the instructor and their fellow participants, but it is not a requirement as we recognize some may not have access to a kitchen.
Sessions are free and open to all; children ages 10 and up are invited to participate with adult family members.
