Free Car Seat Inspection Taking Place Tomorrow in Cincinnatus

Taking place tomorrow, June 8th, from 10am to 2pm, there will be a free car seat inspection during the Cincinnatus Fireman’s Field at 2754 State Route 26 in Cincinnatus. The event will give parents and guardians a free car seat check by certified child passenger safety technicians.

ReBecca Main, Public Health Programs Manager for the Cortland County Health Department says 9 out of 10 parents use seats incorrectly and seats do expire and children grow out of them.

“We will have technicians on hand to provide education and if you need a new seat, one will be provided at no cost.”

Main said to X101 News.

Technicians on site will use the “Learn, Practice, and Explain” model that educates parents and caregivers how to properly install a car seat, but also ensure they are using the correct car seat based on the child’s age, size, and the type of vehicle it is going into.
