In January, former combat veteran soldier Zacharie Boutoille, 26, of Cortland, pleaded guilty to felony Attempted Robbery.
The plea was for his role in an armed robbery of the First National Bank of Dryden office in Cortlandville in November 2016.
Boutoille repaid the $5,105.88 taken from the bank prior to his guilty plea, but told the court last week he is having trouble paying court-assessed fines and surcharges.
In explaining his financial situation, Boutoille told Cortland County Judge David Alexander he is a student, working part-time, and is a stay-at-home dad to help his wife finish her college degree. Boutoille told the court he is also taking college classes online.
Boutoille asked for more time to make payments on the money he owes the court, and Judge Alexander extended the deadline until August 15.
