A staple to the Cortland community and former JM Murray President, Roy Susskind has died after a long illness. Roy served as president of JM Murray from 1974 until 2004.
He laid an expansive vision and the foundation for what JM Murray is today.
“During his presidency, Roy’s entrepreneurial spirit and vision turned a modest workshop into one of the country’s most respected agencies and one of Cortland’s largest employers, all while nurturing an inclusive culture. Always upbeat and positive, Roy was a great mentor and friend to many, and positively impacted thousands of lives during his presidency.” JM Murray said in a statement of Susskind’s passing.
JM Murray is an organization that offers those with disabilities an opportunity to obtain legitimate employment in a real work environment and also training them in valuable skills, improving their self-esteem, and enriching their lives.
