Former Cortland County Sheriff Lee “Arnie” Price, passed away at 77 years old on April 21st.
Price, who was born in Cortland in 1945, and resided in Virgil for most of his life, was the Sheriff for Cortland County for 12 years. In total, Price served with the Sheriff’s Office for 47 years beginning as a patrolman under Sheriff Ken McEvoy.
He worked his way up from patrolman, to sergeant to lieutenant, then to undersheriff with Duane Whiteman before becoming the Sheriff himself.
Calling hours for Price will take place on Wednesday, April 26th, from 1 to 3 pm at the Virgil Methodist Church. Services will follow afterwards. The family is asking in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Virgil United Methodist Church Youth Group.
