Forest Rangers Train at Tinker Falls

When DEC Forest Rangers needed a location to practice technical rope training in winter conditions, they came to Tinker Falls in the Labrador Hollow Unique Area, a DEC State Forest in Cortland County.

The Rangers drilled on rescue scenarios in steep snow and icy terrain, and practiced the skills necessary to safely move through steep and vertical terrain covered by ice and snow.
