“For the Love of Paws” Fundraiser Tomorrow at Homer Elks Lodge – Proceeds Aid Cortland County SPCA
The Cortland County SPCA is inviting the community to a family-friendly fundraiser this weekend aimed at supporting animals in its care, following recent challenges that have impacted the organization’s fundraising efforts.
The event will take place Saturday, February 28, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Homer Elks Lodge.
Organizers say the fundraiser comes at an important time for the SPCA, which has previously dealt with theft of donated cans and bottles — a key source of funding. Proceeds from this event will go directly toward medical care, daily needs, and overall wellbeing of shelter animals.
The afternoon will feature a variety of activities, including themed raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, a kids’ coloring contest, door prizes, and light concessions. Raffle drawings are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
No animals will be present at the event.
The SPCA says community participation — whether attending briefly or staying for the duration — plays a critical role in helping the organization continue its work caring for local animals.
