In 1988, Cortland and Ithaca each entered the annual Cortaca Jug game with an 8-0 record, leading to the contest being billed as the "Upstate New York Game of the Century." For the first time since that game, Cortland and Ithaca are both unbeaten prior to their rivalry game, this time with 9-0 records, to set up the "Upstate New York Game of the Century II." And the stakes are raised even more as the game will be played at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx in front of a crowd of possibly more than 40,000 fans.
