First-Ever Holiday Sock Drive Deemed a Success by NY Senator Webb

New York Senator Lea Webb’s first annual Holiday Sock Drive, has been deemed a success. The sock drive was in partnership with Founder of the Solution to Hunger, Inc, Crystal Wolfe. The initiative was to provide those facing housing insecurity within the 52nd Senate District of Broome, Cortland, and Tompkins Counties with socks during the winter months.

“I am truly overwhelmed by the generosity and compassion our community has shown during my inaugural sock drive,” said Senator Lea Webb. “Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve been able to collect hundreds of pairs of socks to help housing-insecure children and adults stay warm this holiday season. This drive has highlighted the strength of our community and our shared commitment to caring for one another. Together, we’ve made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many, reminding us all of the power of giving.”

The sock drive had collection points in Homer, Ithaca, and in Binghamton. Senator Webb says hundreds of socks were collected and surpassed her goal. In a release, Webb says in addition to the donated socks, Bombas socks will be distributed to various organizations throughout the senate district. Socks are considered an item that is in need, but often under-donated.
