A little after 3 in the morning Sunday, September 17th, both the Cortlandville and Homer Fire Departments responded to a reported structure fire on Kingsley Ave. at the Penguin Trailer Park in the Town of Cortlandville.
First units arriving confirmed an active heavy fire on an enclosed porch of the trailer and called for an all hands fire. Firefighters were able to knock out a bulk of the fire from the outside and had it out in 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control are investigating the cause of the fire. Assisting the Cortlandville Fire Department was the Homer Fire Department, TLC Ambulance, and the Cortland County Sheriff.
