Finger Lakes School of Massage Loses Accreditation After Major Lawsuit

Local News

The Finger Lakes School of Massage has been denied re-accreditation through the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training, just one day after the closing of a settlement involving a former CEO accused of employee retaliation.

That suit came from seven former employees of the school who alleged they were retaliated against for speaking up about concerns at the school’s Ithaca campus.

They claim they were fired in September 2018 when they raised concerns about the school’s operations, later bringing charges to the National Labor Review Board.

An investigation ultimately turned out in their favor and the employees reached a settlement and withdrew their charges on April 30.
