Beginning today, April 1st, the third and final phase of the parking lot reconstruction at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is set to begin, weather allowing. Work is expected to take about 4 weeks to complete.

Guthrie says there won’t be through traffic from the Alvena Ave. lot to the West Main Street lot. Crews will work to provide additional handicap parking spaces closer to the hospital. Both lots will remain accessible during the third phase, but patients will not be able to drive or walk between the two lots.

“Those who require entry to either the main entrance of the hospital or the nursing home should enter the parking lot from Homer Avenue. Those needing the Emergency Department or Renzi Cancer Center should only enter the parking lot from West Main Street.” Guthrie said in a release.

As soon as work is completed, the connector will reopen with work then beginning on the circle at the main entrance to the hospital.
