The Felony Lane Gang is reportedly back in the Central New York Area, according to local police. The gang is a national crime organization that utilizes the “Smash and Grab” technique.
The gang uses the smash and grab technique to smash out car windows and steal items inside the vehicle, mainly purses. The thieves will then use the victim’s ID to cash forged checks in the victim’s name. Areas that are targeted are typically parking lots and the crime takes a matter of seconds to commit.
Cortland and Homer Police Departments urge residents not to leave purses or wallets out in the open within your vehicle and to leave them securely inside your trunk. If you see something suspicious, report it by dialing 9-1-1.
