New York State Police from Homer arrested a man from Dryden Sunday morning on felony charges of driving while intoxicated.
Thomas Sunderland, 34, has two other DWI convictions within the past ten years, according to police.
Troopers tell WXHC that a car crashed into a tree on Clarks Corners Road in the Town of Lapeer. They say that car was operated by Sunderland, and he ran away.
A Cortland County Sheriff’s K-9 helped find Sunderland nearby.
State police report that Sunderland refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.
That report indicates Sunderland was arraigned in Town of Lapeer Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail. His next court date is November 1.
