Family & Children’s Counseling Services is hosting Cortland’s second Narcan Pop-Up Event on Friday, January 29 from 12:30-2:30pm in the parking lot of Econo Lodge, 10 Church Street, Cortland.
Anyone who participates in a brief 5-10 minute training can leave with their own Narcan kit. Distribution will take place outside with limited person-to-person interaction and safety precautions in place.
The COTI Program, which stands for Center of Treatment Innovation and is part of Family & Children’s Counseling Services, goes out and provides support and resources to individuals wherever they are in Cortland County.
A COTI mobile van will be set up and the distribution will be taking place outside of it.
For more information about the COTI Program or to access naloxone, you can contact them by phone at the FCCS Main Office at (607)753-0234 or on the Program Director cell at (607)749-0014 during traditional business hours.
You can also reach them by email at COTI@fcscortland.org.
Additionally, FCS now offers two weekly virtual Narcan training sessions open to anyone in the community. These are free and upon completion you will receive a free Narcan kit.
Training sessions are Mondays at 3pm and Wednesdays at noon. There’s an hour time slot blocked off, but the training typically only takes 10-15 minutes.
Participants can either join via Zoom or can call-in.
No video or sharing of personal information is required. Staff will then coordinate a pick up, drop off, or mailing of the naloxone kit depending on your needs.
