Continuing our weekly COVID segment series with Family Counseling Services of Cortland County:
Colin Albro called in and discussed some helpful strategies for parents who are now homeschooling their children as a result of the statewide closures and NYS on PAUSE order.
“Many parents are finding it challenging to keep kids on task, stay motivated, or to keep them from rushing through their work to do something fun instead,” says Albro. “Distance learning can be complex and complicated, but there are ways to help a struggling child to succeed in school and keep our lives at home a bit more peaceful.”
Albro is the former director of the Cortland LGBTQ center and now serves as a program assistant, passing on his former position to last week’s featured guest, Samantha Adams.
He’s now in pursuit of an MSW at Boise State University.
