Around 7am this morning, July 6th, emergency responders responded near the intersection of Page Green Road and Blodgett Mills Road for a motorcycle accident.
Cortlandville Fire Department, TLC Ambulance, and officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. A helicopter was originally requested, but canceled as the operator of the motorcycle was deceased upon arrival.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office took lead into the investigation of the crash and identified the driver as 32 year old Matthew R. Rayl.
The investigation found Rayl was traveling southbound on Page Green when he lost control of his motorcycle and then struck a tractor that was also traveling south on Page Green. The driver of the tractor did not sustain injuries as a result of the crash.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Reports to X101 News, say the motorcycle had hit a lawnmower with the driver of the motorcycle ejected from the bike. Cortlandville Fire, TLC, and officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
A helicopter was originally requested, but canceled as the driver was reportedly deceased on arrival of emergency responders.
Page Green Road remains closed between Starr Road, Ely Road, and Blodgett Mills Road as the investigation continues.
