Mike Eves: [00:00:00] Mike Eves here on X101 Always Classic time for this look at a Peek at the Peak with me on the line Jon Spaulding. Jon, good morning. How are you? And another awesome week of skiing up at Greek Peak, huh?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, here we are, Mike. Day 58. We’ve got a 30 to 60 inch snowmaking depth out there, and that powder day on Monday has just got the guests going nuts. We got 14 inches of natural depth out there, so wide open. Glades are open, all chairs spinning. It’s just been some fan fantastic skiing at Greek Peak.

Mike Eves: Yeah. No, it has. I did some night skiing earlier this week. Coverage, man, you, the whole mountain is wide open.

You, you hit the nail on the head there, Jon. The whole chairs. All the chairs. Chair five will be spinning this weekend, chair four, It’s a lot of fun to see out there.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, it’s great. And the snowmaking team has done a great job. Grooming the beginner terrain is fantastic. Our terrain based learning.

And the beginner zone is all built out and it’s just, come one, come all. There’s, we got [00:01:00] 10 lanes on the tubing hill too that was just groomed. Something for everyone here at Greek Peak, enjoy, get out there and enjoy the snow.

Mike Eves: Yeah, that’s right. I’m a big fan of the mountain coaster, to be honest with you, and I’ve done it in the wintertime it’s not too bad.

You do a couple runs and then you just go over to tracks,

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, not a lot of people know that the mountain coasters open year round, and we do have two zip lines that are also open during the winter. It’s a completely different experience. Hitting those up in the winter, but always a good time here.

Mike Eves: Yeah. Yeah, that’s right. And speaking of good times, you guys have some really good things happening this weekend, don’t you?

Jon Spaulding: This weekend? Yeah. Busy as usual Friday night, we always have our heirloom here at the tracks and they we host live music at tracks and heirloom folks are there.

They, they got some swag and some sampling that’s been going over really well. Chair five will be open this weekend. Of course, as you mentioned.

But we’re really stoked about Red Jug College Night too on Mondays. This past Monday night was crazy. All the colleges are back in session and we had a record [00:02:00] breaking night of skiing this past Monday.

I just wanna make sure that everyone remembers get out there early. For Red Jug, college night starts at 3:30 on Monday, $26 lift tickets. You really can’t beat it.

Mike Eves: You can’t. Wow. You can’t beat that at all anywhere. You gotta get ’em before they go. ’cause you guys basically, I heard you guys were maybe at, mass capacity or it was, really good.

But that’s what you like to see. So we want to get everybody out there early for that college night.

Jon Spaulding: Absolutely, Mike. I keep telling everyone, mark your calendars for Saturday February 21st for Winter Fest.

Mike Eves: Oh yeah,

Jon Spaulding: It’s not just the kickoff for our 2026-2027 season passes. It’s a full day of fun plan for that day.

Lots of cool activities more details on that to come, but definitely mark the calendar that’s right in the heart of President’s Week and some awesome skiing to be had that weekend too.

Mike Eves: Oh yes, that’s right. And did I see where George Washington was coming through? Am I, did I see that correctly?

I did a double take. I think when I was up there. I think I saw it on a [00:03:00] poster and I was like, what?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. Yeah. George Washington Ski’s was here. He’s got a great social following and this is the last stop on his New York tour

Mike Eves: Oh, that’s pretty cool

Jon Spaulding: And the guests loved it, He was out there in his colonial attire and getting pictures of all the guests.

So it was a lot of fun.

Mike Eves: Yeah. That, no, that’s a lot to see that. That’s awesome. You guys. Always something good to do, even if you’re not, not into the skiing or your family’s skiing, you can always stay warm. And you’ve got the Corinthian room open now too. You want to tell me a little bit about that?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, so the Corinthian room, we’ve remade it into its own like little, hideaway bar almost. So opening that up on the weekends

Mike Eves: And that’s right next to the Taverna, yep ,

Jon Spaulding: Yep, off to Taverna.

It’s been a real hit. We’ve got it, decorated in there with some nostalgic Greek peak photos and there’s a chair and chairlift in there and

Mike Eves: Oh cool!

Jon Spaulding: Pretty cool room. Yeah it’s definitely stoking up some memories

Mike Eves: Yeah.

Jon Spaulding: For the long time skiers here.

Mike Eves: Yeah. No, that, that’s pretty cool. Yeah. Things are happening at Greek Peak and you certainly don’t wanna miss out and there’s plenty of weekends left to be [00:04:00] had Jon?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. Like I said, this is day 58. We open a week ahead of last year, so we’re well on pace to, you know shatter the 104 ski days we did last year.

Mike Eves: Yeah. Which in itself as a skier, pretty impressive when you think about the winter. But then you look at this winter it’s awesome. Jon, we’re almost outta time here.

Anything else you wanna say before we before we wrap up this edition? A peak of the peak?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. Go to greekpeak.net, check out the March Mayhem promotion. You stay at Cope Lake Lodge during March. You ski for free. So it’s just another great thing going on at Greek Peak.

Mike Eves: Wow. Yeah. If you needed another excuse to do a nice little getaway trip at Cope Lake, there you go.

You can’t beat that. That’s amazing. And we’ll be hearing more about that too as we get to March.

Jon Spaulding: Absolutely.

Mike Eves: So Jon Spaulding, director of Martin at Greek Peak. Jon thanks so much for joining us on another edition of Peak of the Peak.

Jon Spaulding: Great to talk to you, Mike.
