A local family is under Red Cross care after a fire yesterday evening displaced them from their home on Telephone Road in the town of Solon, just east of Route 41 and Tower Road.
Multiple departments were dispatched at about 6:15 pm. They arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from all sides of a single-wide trailer.
The fire was controlled in minutes, but one female occupant had to be treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
She was later brought to the hospital by members of her family.
Their home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, making it uninhabitable for the time being.
McGraw Fire Department assisted Cortlandville on-scene.
Homer, Cincinnatus, Willet and Marathon also got requested for mutual aid, then were canceled as the danger was hampered.
Members of the Cortland County Department of Emergency Response and Communications and Cortland County Sheriff’s Office also provided assistance.
All personnel were cleared by 8 pm.
