Family & Children’s Counseling Services Receives Contract to Expand Services

New York State has awarded Family & Children’s Counseling Services (FCCS) with a contract to expand its operations as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), the company announced on Thursday.

The award means that FCCS met the strict criteria of staffing, accessibility services, and accreditations required by the state to become a CCBHC. The new contract will allow FCCS to increase access to treatments and recovery services for mental health and substance use across the area. This will also expand efforts for those who need it most to get into those treatments, no matter their health insurance status.

“This recognition allows us the opportunity to expand our programming and provide significantly more service to the region,” said Lisa Hoeschele, Executive Director and CEO of FCCS. “We are proud that New York State has faith in our ability to provide these increasingly important services.”

FCCS is among 13 freshly-established CCBHCs in New York; eight of them are in the Upstate region. It is part of the federal SAMHSA CCBHC Demonstration Program, whose funding comes from the state’s Offices of Mental Health, Addiction Services and Supports, and the Department of Health.
