Fabius Man Charged With Resisting Arrest Following Traffic Stop on Route 13 in Homer

Around 10pm back on Wednesday, July 9th, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on Route 13 in the Town of Homer by an officer with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. The stop was for both vehicle and traffic law violations.

During the traffic stop, officers determined that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 35 year old Kevin M. Fernandez of Fabius, was driving with a suspended license. The Sheriff’s Office says Fernandez refused to comply with the officers orders and then resisted arrest. He was eventually taken into custody.

Fernandez was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd, and Resisting Arrest, all Misdemeanors. He also faces numerous traffic infractions. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on appearance tickets.

He is due in Homer Town Court early next month.
