Experience Cortland Recognized With Statewide Tourism Excellence Award For Their County Ice Cream Trail

Experience Cortland Executive Director, Michelle Enright, says Experience Cortland has been awarded the 2025 New York State Tourism Excellence Award for Excellence in Tourism Marketing Campaigns, Projects & Programs: Trails & Itineraries by the NYS Tourism Association (NYSTIA). The recognition is for their Cortland County Ice Cream Trail.

“We are thrilled to see the Cortland County Ice Cream Trail recognized on a statewide stage,” said Michelle Enright, Executive Director of Experience Cortland. “This sweet little trail was designed to celebrate our local businesses, inspire summer adventures, and remind visitors and residents that exploring Cortland County should be delicious and fun.”

According to Enright, the NYSTIA Tourism Excellence Awards honor exceptional achievements by the state’s destination marketing organizations, attractions, and tourism professionals. The winners are determined after a review process by a panel of impartial industry experts. Honoree’s for this year’s awards will be recognized during a ceremony in Lake George on September 11th.

“This award is a testament to the creativity and collaboration that make Cortland County shine,” Enright added. “It wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing local partners, Molly Reagan’s artistry, and the community members who hit the trail and shared their scoops with us all season long.”

Experience Cortland’s Cortland County Ice Cream Trail has continued to grow since its inception. This year, the map added two new stops with a grand total of 13. The trail map covers the entire county highlighting ice cream stands and sweet shops. Imagery of the map was done by local artist Molly Reagan, who hand-crafted the designs.
