Experience Cortland has announced an event titled “She Shines,” which is dedicated to celebrating the women entrepreneurs within the Cortland County hospitality industry. The event is set to take place on Thursday, March 7th from 5 to 8pm at Homer Hopes Brewery.

The event Experience Cortland says will be filled with inspiration, camaraderie, and an opportunity to support and discover the diverse talents of women in various industries. Those industries may include retail, health and wellness, and the local arts.

Also during the event will be women vendors offering their products and services. This will include handcrafted goods to health and wellness services to artwork created by local artists.

“We are excited to shine a spotlight on the incredible women entrepreneurs in our community,” said Michelle Enright, Executive Director at Experience Cortland. “She Shines is not only a celebration, but also an opportunity for the community to connect with and support the creative and innovative endeavors of our local women business owners.”

On top of the festivities, She Shines will also serve as a fundraiser for the Grace Brown House on Homer Ave. in the City of Cortland. The Grace Brown House is a supportive housing residence that provides support and shelter for survivors of domestic violence and their families. One dollar from every drink purchased during the event will be donated by Homer Hops and go towards supporting the services of the Grace Brown House by the YWCA of Cortland.

The event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and family to join in the celebration and connection with inspiring women entrepreneurs and learn about the wealth of talent Cortland County offers.

Experience Cortland also notes this event will align with the organization’s participation in the Brave Women FLX campaign, which is a tourism initiative that highlights the historic trail blazers and today’s innovative women business owners in the Finger Lakes Region.
