UPDATED: Escaped inmate caught in Cayuga County

A man who escaped from a Seneca County correctional facility this week was caught last night by police near Rt. 326 in the Town of Aurelius, Cayuga County.
Authorities took 29-year-old Kevin Witt into custody around 10:30 pm, following a multi-day search.
His new charges are being developed by State Police investigators, with collaboration by the prison and the Seneca County District Attorney’s Office.

State police continue to search for a man who escaped Monday (November 9) from the Willard Drug Treatment Campus in Seneca County.
Investigators developed information leading them to believe 29-year-old Kevin Witt may heading towards the Ithaca-Tompkins County area or could already be there.
Residents have been asked to call the police with any potential information on his whereabouts.
