The Electric Light Orchestra will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in April and it may finally set the stage for two original members to bury the hatchet. Bev Bevan, the founding drummer of the group, hasn’t spoken to group’s frontman Jeff Lynne in 30 years. He’s hoping to final shake hands and make amends. Bevan told Rolling Stone, “I hope we shake hands . . . I definitely do hope that happens . . . I think I’m certainly at an age now where I don’t want to bear grudges or have enemies. I just want to make friends. I’d be pleased to do it.”
As far as possibly performing with the group, Bevan said, ” . . . it would be nice. Even if I just got up and played one song or played tambourine or something, I don’t care.”
ELO’s Roy Wood and Richard Tandy will also be inducted with the group.
