Elderly man killed by drug-impaired driver in Tompkins County

A fatal accident took the life of an elderly pedestrian in Tompkins County last week.

Seventy-three year-old Charles Mohler, of Brooktondale, was struck by a vehicle on Buffalo Road in the town of Caroline just past 3:30 pm on Thursday (April 1).

The driver was 26-year-old Natalie Robertson, also from Brooktondale.

She was charged with Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. However, the official cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Mohler was rushed to Cayuga Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.

Robertson will appear in Caroline Town Court sometime in May.
