Early Morning Burglary Leads to Arrest of Two Men

In the early morning hours of July 7th the Cortland County Sheriff’s department responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a business on Starr Road in the Town of Cortlandville.




During the investigation it was found that two suspects forced their way into an outbuilding located on the property of the business and then fled the scene when officers arrived.

Assisting the sheriffs department in locating the two suspects was the City of Cortland Police department and SUNY Cortland Police.

Officers were able to locate and identify both suspects as 32 year old Todd M. Brady and 39 year old Patrick M. Duffy. Both men were charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, a felony, criminal mischief in the 4th degree, conspiracy in the 5th degree, obstruction of government administration in the 2nd degree, and possession of burglar’s tools, all misdemeanors.

Todd M. Brady was remanded to Cortland County Jail without bail and Patrick M. Duffy was released on his own recognizance.
