Dryden’s Southworth Library announced that for the first time in its 139-year history, it will ask for public funding through a public vote during Dryden school budget voting, May 17 from 7am to 9pm at the Dryden Highschool.
The proposition does add a small tax for residents, based on the assessed property value at a rate of $.0564 per $1000, it comes out to under $10 a year for the average household.
Voters will decide the $50-thousand annual funding proposal, which is not part of the school budget and does not affect school funding.
