Dryden Residents, Ensure Your Dog is Licensed Prior to April 25th

The Town of Dryden is reminding residents to make sure their dog(s) are properly licensed with the town by April 25th to avoid an additional $20 enumeration fee. The Town of Dryden says having your dog licensed helps keep the community safe, but is also a legal requirement. Residents who license their dog(s) now will save on fees and ensure their animal is properly registered.

Dog enumeration will begin within the Town of Dryden on April 25th, state law currently requires all dogs older than 4 months to be licensed within the municipality they live in. Dog owners who are found not to have licensed their dog(s) or have a delinquent license, will now be subjected to an enumeration fee in addition to other fees.

“Dog enumeration is a door-to-door process conducted to identify all dogs in the area and ensure they are properly licensed, as required by New York State law. This effort helps us maintain accurate records while promoting public safety and responsible pet ownership.”

According to a Town of Dryden Newsletter.

Dogs may be licensed with the Town Clerk Monday through Friday between 8am and 4:30pm. The town will require a current rabies vaccination certificate in order to complete the licensing. The license will be required to be renewed yearly with the fee being $11.00 for spayed and neutered dogs and $23.00 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered.

Further information on how to have your dog properly licensed, you may contact the Town Office at (607) 844-8888 (option 3) or by visiting the Town Clerk Office at 93 E. Main Street in Dryden.
