Just after 5 in the evening on Wednesday, January 10th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to Walmart in Cortlandville for a harassment complaint. The complaint stated someone was possibly intoxicated and was driving their vehicle around the parking lot with no headlights on.
Officers found the vehicle and the driver, identified at 53 year old Douglas M. Wildenstein of Dryden, in the parking lot still. An investigation by officers determined Wildenstein was operating the vehicle while drunk.
He was arrested and charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI (B.A.C. of .18 or higher), both Misdemeanors. Wildenstein was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released with a uniform traffic ticket. He is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
