Police credit an alert homeowner for catching a young burglary suspect early Sunday.
Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and Tompkins-Cortland Community College police were called to a home on Portzline Drive in the Town of Dryden at about 4:45 am.
The man who owns the home told police he heard glass being broken from a garage window and saw two men standing next to the garage.
Once he got outside, one person took off, but the man found a another suspect inside the garage and held him for police.
Deputies say Raymond Vanloan, 24, was charged, arraigned and sent to the Tompkins County Jail awaiting bail.
Deputies also report that a 16-year old was arrested and charged although his name was not released because of his age.
