Around 10:30 pm on Memorial Day, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were assisting troopers from the New York State Police in the Village of McGraw when they stopped a McGraw man for possibly driving under the influence.
Through an investigation by officers, it was found 42 year old Randy S. Mercier was driving drunk. He was then arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, and Refusal of Breath Screening, a infraction.
Mercier was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and held until the next day for his arraignment. He was later released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Cortlandville Town Court early next week.
