At about 11:30 Tuesday morning, Cortland Police say Amber Harris, 29, of Cortland was at the Econo Lodge in Cortland.
Police tell how she went to the room next door of an unidentified 24-year old man, got into an argument and wouldn’t leave.
Hassan Reed, 32, of Syracuse is friends with Harris, and was in the room they shared.
According to police, Reed came outside and threatened the man with a gun.
According to Lt. Rick Troyer, when officers arrived, Harris and Reed returned to their room, so police needed a search warrant.
Police report they found a loaded handgun in the bathroom, with its serial number destroyed, along with scales and bags used to sell drugs.
Troyer adds that when the two got to the police station, Reed tried to flush more than 16-grams of cocaine down the cell block toilet, and police confiscated $2,144 that he possessed.
Harris was found with cocaine, marijuana and hydrocodone pills and $310 cash on her, according to police.
Both face several drug-related charges, and Reed additional weapons charges.
He’s in the Cortland County Jail with no bail offered.
Harris’ bail was set at $5,000.
Both are due in Cortland City Court Wednesday.
