Drug Dealer Arrested Again – Bail Set for $1

A drug investigation conducted by the Cortland County Drug Task Force recently conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday, May 2nd for a traffic infraction in the City of Cortland.




During the traffic stop, the passenger of the vehicle, 31 year old Zane D. Zimmerman of Cortland was found in possession of 54 glassine envelopes of Fentanyl. The traffic stop then led to a search warrant by the Drug Task Force and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office at a residence on Greenbush Street in the City of Cortland.

The overall investigation, which included the traffic stop and search of the residence, had investigators find 64 baggies of Fentanyl, nearly 3 grams of Meth, 112 Oxycodone pills, packaging material and scales. The drugs seized by police have a street value nearly $4,300.

Zane Zimmerman was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th, all Felonies, and 2 counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd, a Misdemeanor.

Zimmerman was arrested on similar charges during an investigation nearly a year ago. He was taken to the Cortland County Jail for processing and was arraigned at 10am on May 3rd. He was remanded to Cortland County Jail on a nominal bail of $1. He is due back in the City of Cortland County later this month.
